Steve Meng has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Steve began their career in the US Navy as an MM Nuclear Staff Instructor. Steve then worked at GE as a Nuclear Plant Engineer, EOOW, and EDO. After that, they worked at Casino Queen Inc. as a Chief Engineer. Steve then joined Exelon Nuclear, where they worked in Operations and Engineering. Steve later joined the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) as a Senior Evaluator and then moved on to the World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) as an OE Programme Manager. Steve returned to INPO in various roles, including Operations Senior Evaluator, Manager of Emergency Preparedness, Director of Process Optimization, and Evaluation/Peer Review Team Leader. Steve then joined Duke Energy Corporation as Vice President of Corporate Operations before returning to INPO as the Director of Plant Operations. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President of International Strategy and Director of WANO - Atlanta Centre at INPO.
Steve Meng attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy from 1989 to 1993, where they pursued a degree in Marine Engineering - Systems. In 2005, they enrolled at Regis University and completed an MBA in Business and Leadership in 2006. Steve also has a certification in Lean Six Sigma from the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business. Additionally, they obtained the Senior Reactor Operator certification from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission in August 2002.
