Neil Theron

Head: Business Enablement & Relationship Management at Hollard Insurance

Neil Theron has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Neil started their career as a Planning & Development Engineer at ISCOR from 1991 to 1997. Neil then worked as a Senior Consultant at MST Solutions from 1998 to 2003. Following that, they joined Deloitte South Africa where they worked as an Executive Lead & Programme/Project Manager from 2003 to 2011. At Deloitte, they led projects related to business/operational strategies and processes and also served as a Knowledge leader and HR leader for Senior Consultants.

After leaving Deloitte, Neil Theron joined Sasol as a Programme/Senior Project Manager from 2011 to 2013. Neil then moved on to Regent Insurance where they held the roles of Head of IT Business Enablement & Programme Manager from 2014 to 2017. In this position, they managed teams, resources, schedules, and financials.

Neil Theron's most recent position was at Hollard Insurance, where they held the roles of Head of Business Enablement & Programme Manager and Head of Business Enablement & Service Management. In these roles, they were responsible for technology enablement, IT maintenance and support, and implementation of the central business units' future state IT architecture. Neil also managed IT risk, governance, and compliance.

Neil Theron holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from North-West University / Noordwes-Universiteit, which they obtained between 1996 and 2000. Prior to that, they completed an Engineer's Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Pretoria between 1990 and 1992, and a degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same university from 1985 to 1989. In terms of additional certifications, Neil Theron has obtained the following: Change Management Practitioner from APMG International in December 2017, Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance in 2016, Prince2 Foundation from APMG-International in 2014, and PMP from Project Management Institute in 2014.
