Alexander Mauring

Laboratory Physicist / Researcher at Institute for Energy Technology

Alexander Mauring is an accomplished laboratory physicist and researcher currently managing the establishment of a new radioanalytical laboratory at the Institute for Energy Technology, focusing on nuclear decommissioning in Norway. Prior to this role, Alexander served as a gamma spectrometry specialist at the International Atomic Energy Agency, overseeing laboratory and field-based gamma spectrometry systems and conducting measurements for reference materials. Alexander also worked as a research scientist at the Direktoratet for strålevern og atomsikkerhet, managing an accredited gamma-ray spectrometry laboratory and participating in numerous research projects on radioactivity measurement techniques. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Biophysics and Medical Physics and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, both from the University of Oslo.
