Pat Ellisen has a diverse range of experience in various legal roles. They currently work as a General Counsel at Informal Systems since 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Fractional General Counsel at EPE Law from 2022 to 2023. From 2019 to 2022, they were the General Counsel/COO at StakerDAO, where they managed legal, compliance, and operational aspects for a cryptocurrency company. They founded their own company, EPE Law, in 2017, providing legal support to technology clients. Before that, they held Partner positions at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, Greenberg Traurig LLP, Foley and Lardner, and Oppenheimer Wolff and Donnelly, representing technology clients in intellectual property matters. Overall, Pat Ellisen has extensive experience in legal and regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and corporate law in the technology and cryptocurrency industries.

Pat Ellisen attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Following their undergraduate studies, Pat pursued higher education at the University of California, College of the Law in San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) from 1986 to 1989. They completed their Juris Doctor degree, specializing in Law during this time.
