Fleur Marchand is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in social science and agricultural development. Since April 2007, Fleur has held the position of Scientific Director at ILVO, leading the Social Science Unit and coordinating the Research Group on Agricultural and Sector Development, focusing on sustainable food production through farming systems research and transdisciplinary methodologies. Concurrently, Fleur serves as a Universitair hoofddocent at the University of Antwerp, teaching interdisciplinary research methods within the Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development. Previous roles include coordinating sustainable business parks at POM West-Vlaanderen and conducting research at the University of Antwerp. Fleur holds a PhD in Sciences from the University of Antwerp and a Master's degree in Bio-engineering from Ghent University, along with ongoing professional development through an Advanced Management Programme at Vlerick Business School.
