Kevin Xue is an accomplished mechanical engineering student at The Grainger College of Engineering, expected to graduate in 2025, with extensive hands-on experience in the automotive and aerospace sectors. As Team Captain for Illini Electric Motorsports and Illini Motorsports, Kevin has successfully led subteams in chassis design and integration, overseeing project delegation and monitoring. Notable design achievements include a lightweight hand-driven clutch actuation system for a Formula-style car and innovations in chassis torsional rigidity. Kevin has further enhanced skills through internships at SpaceX and Tesla, focusing on mechanical design and engineering mechanisms, along with manufacturing experience at Powertrain Control Solutions, where efficiency improvements were achieved.
