Joe Jones has had a long and varied career in the aviation industry. Joe began their career in 1986 as a Fireman A at General Dynamics. In 1990, they joined the US Navy as an LCDR. In 1999, they became an International Pilot for American Airlines. In 2007, they joined the US Air Force Reserve as a Lt Col, where they worked in Command and Control and gained experience in precision operations. In 2011, they became a Human Factors Consultant and Professional Checklists Development for a private contractor, providing expert guidance on checklist and digital checklist software design and utilization to mission critical industries and teams. Most recently, in 2014, they became President of ICARUS Ops Inc, a software and consulting company and human reliability experts whose mission is minimizing Human Error with Mobile and Wearable Technology.
Joe Jones obtained a Master of Military Operational Art and Science from the Air Command and Staff Collage USAF in 2009. Prior to that, they earned a BS Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University between 1993 and 1998, with a focus on safety, business and legal aspects of aviation. Joe also obtained an Applied Computer Science (AS) from Tarrant County College between 1986 and 1989, with a focus on Computer Systems Analysis and Design.
