Kimberly L (Kim) Chapman has over 30 years of work experience in the field of Instrumentation and Controls Systems Engineering. Kimberly L (Kim) started their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they worked on a team conducting research on base energy use and digital computer modeling.
Kimberly L (Kim) then worked as an I&C Engineer at Black & Veatch, where they were responsible for the design of I&C systems for coal-fired commercial power plants. Kimberly L (Kim) also provided post-construction follow-up and recommended corrective actions and procedures.
After that, they joined Clow Corp., Water Management Div. as the Director of Engineering, where they designed chemical feed and control systems. Kimberly L (Kim) also led the design of a complete update of their commercial product line and developed new equipment data sheets.
Following this, Chapman worked as a Design Engineer at New Technology Design, providing design and integration of automotive production line machine tools controls.
Kimberly L (Kim) then took on the role of Manager of Engineering at Concourse Controls, Inc., where they oversaw estimating, bidding, and design of custom controls for process control systems. Kimberly L (Kim) managed a team of designers and CAD technicians and provided on-site support for I&C instruments and systems.
Currently, Chapman is a Senior Project Engineer at Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc., where they are responsible for designing and implementing instrumentation and controls systems for various applications, including water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, and industrial storage and dispensing systems. Kimberly L (Kim) is also involved in the design and specification of fire alarm systems.
Throughout their career, Chapman has demonstrated a strong expertise in instrumentation and controls systems engineering, along with experience in project management and team leadership.
Kimberly L (Kim) Chapman began their education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1969, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Kimberly L (Kim) completed their undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering in 1976. Additionally, from 1974 to 1976, Kim engaged in graduate study at the same institution, specializing in Control Theory, Modelling, and Optimization. However, they did not obtain a formal degree from their graduate studies.
