Katie Wright has worked in the software engineering field since 2007. In 2015, they held a short-term contract position as a Software Engineer at Erie 1 BOCES, where they designed and developed plugins for the Moodle LMS and Mahara Portfolio System. Katie also integrated Moodle's Gradebook to the Pearson PowerSchool Student Information System using Pearson's REST API. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as a Software Developer at Ensemble Video, where they worked with the Ensemble Team to develop the Microsoft Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams plugin that integrates with the Ensemble Application. From 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Software Engineer at E2CCB and Honorlock.

Katie Wright attended the University of Phoenix from 2007 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Software Engineering. Katie also attended Jamestown Business College from 2004 to 2006, where they earned an Associate's degree in Management and Marketing.
