Ken Rolston

Designer In Residence at Hinterland

Ken Rolston is an accomplished game designer with extensive experience in the video game industry. Currently, Ken serves as a Designer in Residence at Hinterland Studio Inc. and has held the role of Shiftless Brigadeer Deadbeat since becoming resolutely retired in 2014. Previously, Ken was the Director of Design at Turbine/Warner Brothers, specializing in vast narrative computer games. Ken’s notable achievements include serving as Executive Design Director for the critically acclaimed "Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning" at Big Huge Games and as Lead Designer for iconic titles such as "Oblivion," "Morrowind," and "Battlespire" at Bethesda Softworks. Ken’s career began at Magnet Interactive as a Game Designer, with formal education including a BA and MA in English and Philosophy from New York University.
