Chris Fraser

VP Strategy & Growth at High Arctic Energy Services

Chris Fraser has a strong and extensive work experience background in the energy industry, specifically in drilling and operations.

Chris started their career in 1985 at Baker Hughes, where they worked in the Completions department until 1989. Chris then worked at Grant Prideco (Atlas Bradford) as a Regional Manager from 1990 to 1993.

Fraser continued their career at Centrilift, a division of Baker Hughes, as an Applications Engineer in 1993 and became involved in projects related to ESP equipment. Chris then moved back to Baker Hughes and worked as an Operations Coordinator from 1995 to 1999, where they were responsible for coordinating equipment and personnel for Coil Tubing and Underbalanced Drilling operations.

In 1999, Fraser joined BP as a Completions Engineer for a year before moving on to Hess Corporation in 2000. At Hess Corporation, they worked as a Drilling and Completions Engineer and was responsible for planning and designing subsea completions and drilling operations on various platforms.

In 2002, Fraser joined Shell as a Senior Drilling Engineer, where they were in charge of detailed planning and programming of drilling and completion activities. Chris specialized in Extended Reach Drilling and Smart completions.

From 2005 to 2023, Fraser held various roles at Santos Ltd, starting as a Senior Vice President - Completions and eventually becoming a Senior Vice President Asset Operations. Chris was responsible for managing field operations, safety and risk, production operations, budget and financials, HR, contracts, and stakeholder engagement.

Most recently, Fraser joined High Arctic Energy Services in 2023 as the VP Strategy & Growth. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing a growth strategy for the expansion of drilling, well services, and decommissioning services in the Asia-Pacific region. Chris is also in charge of growing the database of professionals provided to customers and managing contract labor hire and people development training.

Throughout their career, Fraser has demonstrated leadership and expertise in various areas of the energy industry, emphasizing safety, performance, and innovation.

Chris Fraser attended Robert Gordon University from 1988 to 1989, where they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Offshore Engineering.
