Dr. Chauhan is a graduate of Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and fellowship in Family Medicine at Community Hospital of Santa Rosa, an affiliate of the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. As a board-certified family physician, he was in clinical practice for ten years in private practice in Alameda, California and then five years in a multi-specialty clinic in Seattle, Washington. He left clinical practice in 1997 to join Providence Health Plan of Washington before joining Premera Blue Cross in Washington state as SVP and CMO in 1999. During his 15-year tenure at Premera, he was responsible for senior corporate medical leadership, strategic planning and implementation of clinical programs including medical and pharmacy utilization management, case and disease management, and collaborating with providers and large employer groups in Washington and Alaska to improve quality of care. In his role as the interim Chief Medical Officer at HealthCorum, he brings experience and skills in strategic planning & implementation, physician leadership, physician collaboration, quality improvement, healthcare cost management, and a specific focus on leveraging data & analytics to improve the quality, efficiency, and affordability of care.
