From 2014 to 2016, they worked at Shapeways as a Financial Analyst and Financial Accountant. From 2016 to 2019, they worked at Plated as a Senior Director of Finance, Strategic Finance and FP&A, Director of Finance, Strategic Finance and FP&A, Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Senior Financial Planning Analyst. In 2019, they were an EIR at Human Ventures and a Co-Founder at Hazel.

Steven Cruz received their Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a Concentration in Entrepreneurism from Fordham University.
