VinÃcius Calasans has gained a wide range of work experience in the field of software engineering and quantitative research. VinÃcius started their career as an intern at Laboratory de Simulação e Controle - USP in 2011 and later interned at Instituto de Matemática e EstatÃstica - Universidade de São Paulo (IME-USP) in 2012. In 2014, VinÃcius worked as an intern at Arkema.
In 2016, they joined Lanx Capital Investimentos as a Quant Analyst & Software Engineer. There, they focused on market data analysis, valuation of fixed-income securities, strategy modeling, and backtesting. VinÃcius also developed a financial data processing platform using Python, QuantLib, and MongoDB.
In 2018, VinÃcius became a Senior Software Engineer at VTEX, where they contributed to the development of a serverless development platform for retailers. VinÃcius was responsible for developer tools and implementing features for retail-oriented APIs.
In 2020, VinÃcius joined JGP as a Tech Lead in Equities Quantitative Research and Software Development. VinÃcius led the creation of a quantitative software framework for real-time investment strategy execution, monitoring, and backtesting. VinÃcius also implemented web applications to provide traders with insights about market data and their portfolios.
Most recently, in 2022, VinÃcius joined Harness as a Senior Software Engineer.
VinÃcius Calasans began their education journey in 2010 at Escola Politécnica da USP, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Chemical Engineering. VinÃcius successfully completed this program in 2016. Subsequently, from 2013 to 2016, VinÃcius pursued further education at École Polytechnique, where they attained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Chemical Engineering.
