Joanna Lapucha has a diverse work experience in the fields of process engineering and chemical research. Joanna'smost recent role is as a Process Engineer at Halker since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at M&H as a Process Engineer from 2019 to 2022, where they gained experience in steady-state and dynamic process modeling, P&ID development, equipment/line sizing, site visits, and technical writing. Joanna also served as a Project Manager on a vent/relief study and as a process lead on various modeling projects.
Before joining M&H, Lapucha worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia from 2017 to 2018, where they completed their MASc in Chemical Engineering. Joanna'sresearch focused on foam process creation and the role of surfactants in aqueous foams.
Joanna also has experience in the oil and gas industry, having worked at Schlumberger as a ProACT Field Engineer from 2016 to 2016 and as an MI SWACO ProACT Field Engineer from 2014 to 2016. Joanna'sassignments at Schlumberger involved technical support, product development, and field testing of wax inhibitors and crude oil demulsification chemicals. Joanna gained experience in drilling and completion fluid and tools, as well as upstream oil and gas production chemistry.
Lapucha's earlier experience includes working as a Student-Athlete and Research Associate at Tulane University from 2010 to 2014. Joanna was a varsity pole vaulter and member of the traveling squad throughout their four years, participating in conference championships. Joanna also had a research internship at Croda in 2012.
Overall, Lapucha has developed expertise in process engineering, research, and technical support in the oil and gas industry through their various roles and educational background.
Joanna Lapucha completed their education in chronological order as follows:
- From 2010 to 2014, they attended Tulane University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry.
- During the same period at Tulane University, they also completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in French Language and Literature.
- In 2011, they briefly studied French Language and Literature at both Louisiana State University and Universite de Moncton.
- In 2014, they obtained additional certifications, including the Environmental Solutions Specialist I- MI SWACO Basic ES School from Mi Swaco and the Drilling Fluids Specialist- MI SWACO Basic Mud School from MI-SWACO (Schlumberger).
- Finally, from 2017 to 2018, they pursued and obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
