Betsa Filakovic has over 23 years of work experience, with a strong background in project management and technology leadership roles in the banking and financial industry.

Filakovic currently holds the position of Senior Director, Smart Buildings Technology at GWL Realty Advisors, starting in September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as Principal at Optimus SBR from April 2021 to September 2022.

From 2017 to 2021, Filakovic worked at TD Bank in various roles. Betsa served as Associate Vice President, DSS Business Banking Portfolio Delivery from April 2019 to March 2021, leading a team of 40 project managers and analysts. Betsa was also responsible for mentoring three colleagues in this role. Before that, they held the position of Associate Vice President, Business Banking Technology Solutions, CBDC from September 2018 to April 2019, leading a team of 60+ technology professionals. Additionally, Filakovic was AVP, EFAP Technology Delivery from September 2017 to September 2018, driving the development and deployment of diverse platform technologies.

Prior to TD Bank, Filakovic worked at Scotiabank from 2007 to 2017. Betsa'sroles included Senior Program Manager in Global Risk Management Strategic Project Management, where they led the Non-Retail Credit Risk Program. Betsa also served as a Program Manager in Global Banking and Markets - Technology Application Group, managing concurrent projects with budgets ranging from CDN$2 million to CDN$6 million. In addition, Filakovic was a Program Manager in International Banking, responsible for implementing the Moody's Financial Analyst (MFA) and Moody's Risk Advisor (MRA) applications across 35 countries.

Filakovic's earlier work experience includes roles at TD Bank Financial Group as a Senior Project Manager, RBC Royal Bank as a Senior Project Manager overseeing Basel II projects, Manulife Financial as a Project Manager, Scotia Capital as a Project Manager in the Technology Application Group, and Canada Life as a Project Manager.

Throughout their career, Filakovic has demonstrated expertise in driving project delivery, managing teams, and implementing technology solutions in the financial industry. Betsa'sextensive experience in both project management and technology leadership makes their a valuable asset to any organization.

Betsa Filakovic has an extensive educational background. Betsa obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Computer Business Information Systems and a minor in Business Communications from Ryerson University between 1997 and 2001. During the same period, they also completed a Certificate in Business Computer Systems & Programming from Ryerson University.

In 1995-1997, Betsa Filakovic obtained another Certificate, this time in Business Management, from Ryerson University.

Later, from 2001 to 2003, Betsa Filakovic pursued a Masters Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University.

In terms of additional certifications, Betsa Filakovic received a PMP Bootcamp certification from The Knowledge Academy in April 2017. Betsa also completed several online courses, such as "Human-Centred Design Foundations" from OCAD U CO in April 2019, "Building Your Leadership Skills" from HEC Paris in January 2021, "Presenting to Senior Executives" in March 2021, and "Icebreakers for Teams, Meetings, and Groups" in June 2021, all through LinkedIn Learning.

Most recently, Betsa Filakovic obtained two certifications from LinkedIn Learning: "ITIL® Foundation 4 First Look" in April 2022 and "Learning ITIL®" in April 2022.
