John R. Richards is an attorney who currently serves as co-chair of the Retail Industry Group and co-chair of DEI & Workplace Compliance Sub at Greenberg Traurig. John has also previously worked as an labor & employment attorney at MÂÜÀòÂÒÂ×AN, LEWIS & BOCKIUS LLP from March 2008 to September 2014, where they represented clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters with an emphasis on class and collective action litigation arising under the FLSA and state wage-and-hour laws, class action and multiparty litigation arising under ERISA, and Sarbanes-Oxley "whistleblower" litigation at the administrative and federal level. John has also advised clients on issues related to employee handbooks, employment policies, wage and hour compliance, litigation avoidance, and discovery management including financial services firms, retail employers, and global goods and service providers. In addition, they have published articles on ERISA litigation topics, employment law, and LGBT diversity issues. From September 2006 to September 2007, they served as a judicial law clerk at the UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF OHIO. And from January 2005 to May 2006, they did an externship at Equality Advocates Pennsylvania.
John R. Richards has a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, where they graduated cum laude. John also has a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University, where they majored in political science and government and sociology, and graduated summa cum laude.
