John Machacek has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. John began their career in 1995 as a Manager Trainee at Menards. John then worked as an Accounting Specialist at Cargill Financial Service Center, where they processed payment distributions and handled collections.
In 1998, John became the Cash Operations Manager at Concordia College and held this position until 2002. John then joined Krispy Kreme as an Assistant Manager before transitioning to a Director of Research & Existing Industry role at the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation in 2003. In this role, their responsibilities included visiting and surveying area companies, administering loan programs, and managing internal administrative duties.
John joined U.S. Bank in 2006 as an Assistant Relationship Manager in Business Banking, where they analyzed financial documents and was responsible for understanding and mitigating risks. In 2009, they became the Vice President of Finance & Operations at United Way of Cass-Clay, where they managed various aspects of the organization's operations.
In 2014, John joined Yelp as the Fargo Moorhead Community Ambassador, where they promoted the platform's tools and services. John later returned to the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation in 2012 as the Chief Innovation Officer, focusing on entrepreneurial development and strengthening the local ecosystem.
Throughout their career, John has consistently demonstrated their ability to manage operations, finance, technology, and human resources, while also leveraging their skills to assist individuals and companies in achieving success.
John Machacek obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Minnesota State University Moorhead, where they attended from 1990 to 1995.
