Jeffrey Dorsey has extensive work experience in maintenance and management roles. Jeffrey began their career as an Electrical Worker General, installing, repairing, and maintaining motor control systems. Jeffrey then moved on to become a Plant Maintenance Foreman, managing a team of skilled workers and implementing a successful maintenance program. After that, they transitioned to the role of Professional Administrative Analyst, where they provided management and coordination for a large water system. Jeffrey was responsible for overseeing a reservoir rehabilitation program and managing a significant budget. Dorsey then took on the position of Maintenance & Engineering Manager at Evergreen Packaging, where they developed and implemented maintenance plans and reduced downtime. Currently, they are the Director of Water Operations Maintenance at Great Lakes Water Authority, overseeing maintenance activities, capital improvement projects, and regulatory compliance.
Jeffrey Dorsey received their education in a chronological order starting with their Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Pre-Engineering from Wayne County Community College District, which they attended from 2004 to 2006. Following that, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Wayne State University, where they studied from 2006 to 2014.
In addition to their formal education, Jeffrey has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Jeffrey obtained their Electrical Journeyman License from the City of Detroit in October 2003. Jeffrey also holds certifications such as HAZMAT Certification from OSHA-Safety-Training.com (February 2001), Confined Space Certification from the Construction Contractors Council (March 2012), and NIMS (National Incident Management System) Certification from FEMA (September 2012).
Furthermore, they have secured a Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt certification from Lean Sigma Corporation in August 2015 and obtained a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification from the Maintenance and Reliability Institute in January 2021. Most recently, in March 2023, they acquired the F-1 Water Filtration License and F-2 Water Distribution License from the State of Michigan. Additionally, Jeffrey holds a CPR and First Aid Certification from the City of Detroit, which they obtained in May 2013.
