Primary Job Responsibilities
The primary job responsibility of the Property Accountant is to complete the monthly financial reports for 8-10 properties. The Property Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all transactions and financial reports in the accountant’s portfolio.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reconciliation of monthly bank statements for the properties and the property ownership entities
- Researching outstanding items on the bank reconciliation
- Review and analysis of all activity recorded in the general ledger
- Prepare and enter journal entries
- Prepare and record management fees
- Prepare security deposit transfer
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules Â
- Assist with budget to variance analysis
- Maintain depreciation and amortization schedules of fixed assets
- Prepare analysis of lender-held escrow and reserves
- Prepare all lender draws
- Prepare and send financial reports to lenders as required in loan documents
- Record all transactions for ownership entities related to the properties in the accountant’s portfolio
- Transfer funds for inter-entity transactions (Insurance Reserves, Management Fee, Security Deposit Transfers, etc.)
- Record and transfer funds for distributions
- Record all cash transactions
- Assist with audit and tax requests, as well as any other projects assigned
- Record mortgage payments for the properties in the accountant’s portfolio
- Demonstrate a proficient skill level with MS Office products and a high proficiency level with Excel, Real Page & Avid ExchangeÂ
- Working closely with other positions in accounting and properties, working independently and making decisions in preparing reports is a must
- Working knowledge of Rent Roll and perform analysis using trailing 12 month income statements
- Other duties, as assigned

Must speak and write English fluently to communicate effectively. Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Desire to grow your career in Real Estate, a plus. Grand Peaks exercises a hybrid work schedule.Â
Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000, commensurate with experience.Â
