Petar Maymounkov has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Petar is currently the Co-Founder of Gov4Git Foundation, where they focus on integrating secure and transparent governance into open-source projects. Before this, they worked as a Private Investor in a Private Family Office. At Protocol Labs, they held multiple roles, including Senior Research Engineer, Technical Program Manager, and Research Engineer, where they led the development of new protocols and crypto marketplaces. Petar also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Amazon Lab126, a CTO at Aljabr, Inc., and a Senior Engineer at Google. Additionally, they founded GoCircuit.org and worked as a Founder. Petar was a Research Scientist at L-3 Data Tactics and XDATA/DARPA, where they managed and developed various projects under the DARPA XData initiative. Petar also worked as a Senior Engineer at Tumblr.
Petar Maymounkov holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2005 to 2012. Prior to this, they earned an MSc in Computer Science from New York University from 2001 to 2003. Petar began their educational journey at Harvard University, where they received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from 1997 to 2001.
