Wendy Goodson is a seasoned expert in biology and materials science, currently serving as Vice President of Government Business Development at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. since June 2021, after holding the position of Senior Director of Business Development for Government. Prior to this, Wendy accumulated extensive experience at the Air Force Research Laboratory from January 2016 to June 2021 in various leadership roles, including Branch Chief of the Soft Matter Materials Branch and Chief Scientist (Acting) in the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Wendy's research focuses on biofilm-material interactions, microbially influenced corrosion, and biomaterials with an emphasis on cephalopod structural coloration. Wendy has also worked as a Senior Research Biologist at the USAF, with earlier roles at UES, Inc., and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Hawaii-Manoa. Wendy holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Michigan and a BA in Biology with a specialization in marine science from Boston University.
