Benjamin Smith is an experienced educational leader with a diverse background in instructional coaching, academic leadership, and cultural development. Currently serving as Resident Principal at Gestalt Community Schools, Benjamin also holds titles as ELA/Humanities Instructional Coach and Dean of Instruction. Previously, roles included Dean of Academics at Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools and multiple leadership positions at KIPP Memphis Collegiate Schools, where responsibilities encompassed managing teachers and students as well as setting data-driven academic goals. Benjamin's early career includes impactful teaching in social studies and contributions as a Corps Member with Teach For America. Educational achievements include a degree in Intercultural Communication from Southern Illinois University, where Benjamin actively promoted diversity and academic success for Black male students.
