Federico Montealegre-Golcher has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical and scientific field. Federico is currently working as the GBT Medical Affairs, Medical Director for Brazil and LATAM at Global Blood Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs for COVID Vaccine at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson in 2021.

From 2017 to 2020, Federico held the role of Medical and Scientific Director for Latin America at Nova Biomedical. During their tenure, they focused on identifying, developing, and collaborating with Latin American Key Opinion Leaders across various specialties. Federico was responsible for generating numerous studies and maintaining key relationships with over 50 KOLs and Scientific Leaders.

Before joining Nova Biomedical, Federico worked at Baxalta from 2014 to 2017 as the Regional Associate Medical Director for Immunology, Latin America. Federico was accountable for leading medical affairs and scientific affairs functions for immunology pharmaceuticals. Federico also played a crucial role in developing and implementing local and regional strategies aligned with the global medical strategy.

From 2010 to 2013, Federico served as the Regional Director for Medical Affairs/MSD - Oncology & Respiratory, Latin America at MSD. During their time there, they acted as a regional subject matter expert in Oncology and Respiratory disease areas, providing input into global clinical strategy and study design. Federico also led the development of regional integrated medical and scientific leadership strategies.

Federico's career began at Ponce School of Medicine in 1990, where they held various roles such as Full Professor, Head of the Laboratory of Immunochemistry and Clinical Research Unit, and Department Chair. As the Department Chair, they were responsible for overseeing the development, management, and budgeting of the Department, as well as planning academic activities, research, and finances.

Overall, Federico Montealegre-Golcher has demonstrated expertise in medical affairs, scientific leadership, relationship building with key opinion leaders, and strategic planning throughout their extensive career.

Federico Montealegre-Golcher has a Master's Degree in Master of Science (MS) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Federico also has a Master's Degree in Clinical Research & Statistics (MSc) from Universidad de Puerto Rico. Federico holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, they have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Immunology - Immunochemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Federico also has a Graduate Certificate in Bioethics (GCB) from Universidad de Puerto Rico.
