Saman Mirzaei has been working in the scientific field since 2009. Saman began their career as a Research Assistant (Diabetes Research Group) at King's College London, where they focused on the identification of novel biomarkers using gene expression assays. Saman also taught theoretical and laboratory practicals to groups of masters and undergraduate students. In 2014, they became an Associate Researcher at King's College London. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Scientist II at the UC Irvine School of Medicine, where they worked on the three-dimensional rendering of sensory fiber projections onto spinal cord neurons. In 2020, they joined Roche as a Scientist, where they led studies and teams for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) product development from concept to commercialization, under FDA and CLIA regulation. Saman also supported the Assay Migration work stream for the migration of class I/CE IVD assays & Class II/ Class I non-exempt assays for internal studies and class III assays for external studies under Apex Project. In 2022, they will become a Senior Scientist at GATC Health.
Saman Mirzaei obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Genetics/Molecular Biology from King's College London between 2010 and 2014. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics from Brunel University between 2007 and 2009. Saman also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Information of Medical Science from Shahid Beheshti University, which they obtained between 2002 and 2005.
