Pete Thompson has extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Pete started their career in 1989 as a Software Developer for Nano Computing Limited, where they worked on various systems including a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and manufacturing platforms. Pete then joined LabSystems in 1991 as a Software Developer, specializing in developing interfaces between laboratory instruments and their Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) product. In 1995, Pete joined IQVIA (previously known as QuintilesIMS) and held a range of positions, including Director of Information Technology. Pete worked on diverse projects such as IT infrastructure, product management, enterprise architecture, and SharePoint practice. In 2001, Pete became an Independent Consultant and worked on projects for Quintiles. Pete eventually joined Foundry Health, an IQVIA business, in 2021 as the Head of Engineering. Throughout their career, Pete has acquired skills in various programming languages and platforms.

Pete Thompson attended the University of Cambridge from 1986 to 1989, where they obtained their MA degree in Computer Science and Mathematics. In addition, they obtained several certifications over the years, including the TIBCO Spotfire for Analysts Certification from TIBCO Software Inc. in November 2017, the ITIL Foundation (2011) from PEOPLECERT in August 2016, and the Microsoft Certified Professional certification from Microsoft in October 2001.
