Yubing Li

Yubing Li is a Senior Scientist at FfAME - Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution, focusing on the origin of life, artificial life with expanded genetic alphabets, cell engineering, endosymbiosis, evolution, and synthetic biology since October 2018. Prior to this role, Yubing served as a Senior Research Biologist at the University of Florida from 2013 to 2018, where responsibilities included leading research projects, supervising students, and managing lab operations. Key projects involved investigating phenylpropanoid biosynthetic pathways and engineering novel enzymes in various organisms. Yubing's experience also includes working as a Research Associate at the Salk Institute from 2006 to 2011, where research centered on cell cycle regulation in green algae, and as a Postgraduate Researcher at UC Riverside from 2004 to 2006, focusing on plant lipid biosynthesis and pollen coat proteins. Yubing holds a Ph.D. in Plant Cell and Molecular Biology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master's degree in Microbiology from Nankai University.
