Karin Björklund has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental health and research. Karin has worked as a National focal point - WHO EHP at the World Health Organization since 2017. Prior to that, they worked as an NRC - environment & health at the European Environment Agency starting from 2011. Karin has also been a network member at ERA-ENVHEALTH since 2014.
Björklund has also worked at ¹ó´Ç±ô°ì³óä±ô²õ´Ç³¾²â²Ô»å¾±²µ³ó±ð³Ù±ð²Ô, where they held multiple roles including Acting head, Unit for Environmental Health and Analyst, Environmental Health from 2014 onwards. Karin worked as a Programme Officer at Socialstyrelsen from 2011 to 2013.
Their research experience includes being a Researcher at Karolinska Institutet from 2009 to 2011, a Research Assistant Professor at The University of Western Australia from 2008 to 2009, and a Post doc at both Karolinska institutet and The University of Western Australia.
Additionally, Björklund has prior work experience as a Miljöutredare at Skanska in 2001.
Karin Björklund has a strong background in soil sciences. Karin completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Soil Sciences at SLU - Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences from 2002 to 2006. Prior to their PhD, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Soil Sciences at the same institution from 1997 to 2001. Karin began their education at Röllingby gymnasium from 1994 to 1997, and before that, they attended the International School of Tanganyika from 1991 to 1994.
