Alexander Hentschel has had a diverse work experience, primarily in the field of technology and blockchain. Alexander is currently the Chief Protocol Architect at Flow Blockchain and has held this position since June 2022. Prior to that, Alexander worked at Dapper Labs, where they served as the Chief Protocol Architect of the Flow Blockchain from July 2020 onwards and also held the roles of Lead Blockchain Architect and Blockchain Consensus Architect from September 2019 to July 2020. Before joining Dapper Labs, Alexander worked at Axiom Zen as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer from October 2017 to February 2020. Alexander was responsible for developing and reinventing businesses for a software-centric world. Alexander's early career involved working at Siemens AG as a Research Scientist for Machine Learning from September 2011 to May 2017. During this time, they focused on research and development of data-scientific solutions with a concentration on machine learning. Alexander also gained experience in project management, coordination, and supervision of research projects. Alexander holds a PhD from the University of Calgary, which they completed from August 2007 to April 2011.
Alexander Hentschel holds a PhD in Physics and Quantum Computing from the University of Calgary, which they completed from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Diploma in Computer Science and a Diploma in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where they studied from 2001 to 2010. Alexander also completed their secondary education at Max Planck Oberschule Berlin. In addition to their academic qualifications, they obtained a certification as an R&D Project Manager from Siemens in March 2014.
