Maura Malartsik has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. In 2003, they worked as a Camp Counselor and After School Day Care Worker at the Village of Lincolnwood. From 2006 to 2012, they were a Customer Service Representative and part of the Dispatch Department at Abt Electronics. In 2011, they interned as a Housing Advocate at Deborah's Place, where they provided case management, resource support, and conducted research for program evaluation. In 2013, Maura joined FNA Group INC as a Sales Support Supervisor, handling sales administration and order processing. Maura then moved on to Filter Services Inc, where they held positions such as Account Manager, Account Manager Team Supervisor, and Director of Account Management Team and Service Operations.

Maura Malartsik attended Northeastern Illinois University from 2006 to 2012, where they received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Maura also obtained a certification as a Nafa Certified Technician Level 1 from the National Air Technician Filtration Association in 2015.
