Ryan joined Delex Systems, Inc. as a Research Analyst in 2011, focusing on political, military, and diplomatic issues in the India/Asia/SE Asia region. At Mission Essential, they continued their research work on foreign adversary capabilities. Ryan then moved to BAE Systems, where they served as an OSINT Research Analyst, writing reports on military and political coordination.
