Maritza Acosta has a diverse work experience that spans multiple fields. In 2022, they worked as a Customer Success Specialist at FEV Tutor. Prior to that, they held various roles at The University of Texas Permian Basin, including Professor and Adjunct Professor, starting in 2021. In the same year, they also volunteered at the Permian Basin Adult Literacy Center. Before that, from 2021 to 2022, they served as an Instructional Coordinator at Midland Independent School District.

Maritza Acosta obtained a Master of Arts degree in Education: Literacy from The University of Texas Permian Basin, completing their studies from 2016 to 2018. Prior to this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Texas State University, which they completed between 2012 and 2014.
