Ashley Putnam has a diverse range of work experience. In 2007, they worked as an Instructional Supervisor and Service Representative at Berlitz. In 2008, they were a Field Organizer for Obama for America. From 2009 to 2011, they served as a Corporate Representative at America Works, Inc., helping individuals living below the poverty level become self-sufficient through employment. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Community Engagement Manager at Mercado Global, overseeing the private donor program and managing relationships with major donors. In 2013, they founded and served as Fellowship Director at Work First, a public policy fellowship program focused on urban poverty and workforce development. In 2014, they worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of the Research Utilization team. From 2016 to 2017, they were an Economic Development Advisor at the NYC Office of the Mayor, overseeing the implementation of Career Pathways recommendations and managing the HireNYC program. Most recently, since December 2017, they have been the Director of the Economic Growth and Mobility Project at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, where they promote equal access to economic opportunity and manages partnerships for inclusive economic growth.
Ashley Putnam attended Barnard College from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. Their field of study during that time was Anthropology and Spanish. Later, from 2013 to 2015, they pursued a Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) degree at NYU Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. Their focus in this program was International Policy and Management.
