Barbara O'Donovan has over 14 years of work experience in the metals and financial industries. Barbara is currently employed as the Product Director, Digital at Fastmarkets since July 2023. Prior to this role, they worked at Fastmarkets as a Senior Product Manager from October 2018 to July 2023. Before joining Fastmarkets, Barbara held various positions at Fastmarkets IM and American Metal Market. At Fastmarkets IM, they served as the Managing Editor and Product Owner from January 2015 to October 2018. At American Metal Market, they worked as a Product Owner from June 2015 to December 2016. Earlier in their career, Barbara worked at American Metal Market as the Special Projects & Overseas Editor, Managing Editor, and Editor (non-ferrous) from March 2014 to January 2015, July 2013 to February 2014, and February 2012 to July 2013, respectively. Barbara started their career at Metal Bulletin, where they held roles as Deputy Editor (non-ferrous), Correspondent, and Reporter from January 2011 to February 2012, June 2009 to December 2010, and December 2007 to May 2009, respectively.

Barbara O'Donovan has a diverse education history. In 2006-2007, they pursued an MA in International Journalism at City, University of London.
