Ran Kaftory, PhD, serves as the Head of the Computer Vision group at a company since August 2020 and holds the position of Adjunct Lecturer at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, teaching "Visual and Auditory Systems" for computer vision MSc and BSc students. As a co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at EyeCue Vision Technologies Ltd. since November 2008, Ran has played a key role in developing advanced computer vision technologies and co-created the Qlone 3D scanning app. Additional experience includes serving as an inspector in the Antiquities Robbery Prevention Unit of the Israel Antiquities Authority since 2017, and previously as a Forensic Computer Vision Expert for the Israeli Police until February 2021. Ran's earlier work includes consulting on medical product testing algorithms, leading a research team in signal and image processing for homeland security, and serving in the Israeli Navy's Radar Department. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, alongside ongoing PhD studies in Archaeology at the University of Haifa, and a BA in Archaeology from the same institution.
