Meredith C. K. Sellers has a diverse range of work experience in the engineering field.
Meredith C. K. has been working at Exponent since 2012, starting as an Associate in the Materials and Corrosion Engineering Practice and progressing to Senior Managing Engineer in 2019. Throughout their time at Exponent, they have held various roles of increasing responsibility, including Managing Engineer and Senior Engineer.
Prior to their time at Exponent, Meredith worked as an ORISE Postdoctoral Research Associate at the US Army Corps of Engineers from 2011 to 2012. Here, they were responsible for developing and evaluating supercapacitors for sustainable energy-oriented research projects.
Meredith C. K. also has experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2005 to 2011. During their time there, they conducted research on the defect engineering of polycrystalline titanium dioxide and managed an educational laboratory focused on microelectronics materials synthesis.
Their earlier experience includes internships at Sandia National Laboratories in 2005 and 2004, where they worked on micro-total-analytical systems and entry control & contraband detection technologies, respectively.
In 2003, Meredith worked as an Honorary Research Associate at University College London in the Department of Chemistry.
Overall, Meredith has a strong background in materials and corrosion engineering, with experience in research, project management, and laboratory management.
Meredith C. K. Sellers obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University from 2001 to 2005. Meredith C. K. then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2005 to 2008. Following their Master's degree, they continued their education at the same institution and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering from 2008 to 2011.
In addition to their academic achievements, Meredith has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Meredith C. K. became a Licensed Professional Chemical Engineer from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in December 2013. Meredith C. K. also obtained the same license from the Minnesota State Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design in February 2015, and from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in January 2018.
Meredith further enhanced their professional qualifications by becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng) accredited by the Engineering Council in May 2019. Meredith C. K. also attained the status of Chartered Chemical Engineer (MIChemE) from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) in the same month and year. Additionally, they acquired the designation of Corrosion Technician from AMPP: Association for Materials Protection and Performance in December 2022, and the designation of Risk Based Inspection Professional (API 580) from the American Petroleum Institute in May 2023.
