Merrill Friedman serves as a Board Member for Mental Health America and the EveryLife Foundation for Rare Diseases, and has held the position of RVP, Inclusive Policy & Advocacy at Elevance Health since June 2022, along with a similar role at Anthem, Inc. starting in December 2012. Merrill has also contributed as a Board Member for the National Academy of Social Insurance, the Institute for Exceptional Care, and Rebuilding Together, and previously served on the boards of TASH and the American Association of People with Disabilities. From 2010 to 2013, Merrill was Chair of the MI Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC). Merrill holds a BA in Psychology from Towson University, earned between 1985 and 1989.
