Francesca Day (nee Mazzei) currently serves as the Head of the Therapeutic Areas Department and Operational Lead for the Office of Vaccines and Therapies for Infectious Diseases at the European Medicines Agency since November 2020. Prior experience includes the role of Director of Regulatory Affairs at AstraZeneca from March 2019 to November 2020 and multiple positions at Gilead Sciences from January 2011 to February 2019, culminating in the position of Director. Earlier roles also include Regulatory and Drug Safety Manager at Chroma Therapeutics, Investigator at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, and a Stage Student at GlaxoSmithKline. Francesca Day holds a PhD in Chemistry and a First Class Honours BSc in Chemistry, both from the University of St Andrews.
