Isabela Celed贸n

Youth LEAD Program Manager at ETC

Isabela (or Isa, pronounced eesa) grew up exploring the waterways, mountains, and deserts of both California and Chile, her two homes. Growing up in a diverse, creative Los Angeles community with yearly visits to extended family in Chile gave her a deep appreciation for folks from all walks of life. Propelled by her love for people and learning, she studied Elementary Education at Boston University, earning her Bachelor鈥檚 of Science and Massachusetts Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential with a specialization in Elementary Math. Her curiosity about the world brought her to teach Art in Marpha, Nepal, where she soaked up the stunning Himalayan landscapes and learned the subtle technique for forming delicious momos (dumplings).

After working a season as a raft guide on the Lower Salmon and Snake River (Hells Canyon), Isa was completely hooked on the adventure of whitewater and the irreplaceable relationships formed on the river. She returned to her home of San Francisco with an itch for open water. When teaching third graders in the city felt too confining, she joined the ETC community as the Sea Kayak Program Associate and tended to the many plants and animals at Vida Verde Nature Education as the Assistant Farm And Facilities Manager.
