Chris Newman has over 25 years of professional experience in the hardware and firmware engineering fields. Chris began their career as a Hardware Intern at Mission Research Corporation in 1995. Following their internship, they were promoted to Hardware Engineer II, where they developed military test equipment and became the primary hardware expert on an aircraft radar test system. In 1998, they moved to Maxtor Corporation as a Staff Firmware Engineer, where they developed internal test tools both as an individual contributor and while leading a multidisciplinary team. In 2006, they joined Seagate Technology as a Staff Firmware Engineer and performed ASIC and firmware verification using cosimulation in a Linux environment. In 2008, they moved to Advantage Electronic Product Development as a Hardware/Firmware Engineer, where they designed and developed products for customers in various industries. In 2011, they joined Oracle as a Hardware Developer and led a team to create a custom microcontroller subsystem in an ASIC. Finally, in 2017, they joined Ergodriven as a Senior Hardware/Firmware Engineer.
Chris Newman attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1993 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
