Accounting Intern

The Role:
An internship at EPR Properties not only offers an opportunity to build your skills and

Working alongside the Accounting Team, you'll be a valued member of the
team. You'll be assigned to projects to develop your understanding of what we do and build

What you will do:
As an Accounting Intern, you'll work as part of a team on business issues from strategy to execution. EPR Properties’ skills and responsibilities for the Accounting intern include but are not limited to:
Be curious and try new things
Reconciliation of numerous general ledger accounts, sub systems, bank accounts, fixed assets
Think broadly and ask questions about data, facts, and other information
Posting of monthly journal entries for various accounts and tracking certain cash payments
Timely and accurate processing, posting, and recording of all relevant accounting transactions or information as assigned
Communicate confidently in a clear, concise, and articulate manner - verbally
Embrace different points of view and welcome opposing and conflicting ideas
Administer all invoices in AvidXchange and batch payments, process remaining invoices through accounts payable system and checks as needed
Preparing internal memos
Uphold the company’s code of ethics and business conduct
Complete daily accounts payable functions including entering invoices and preparing check runs both manually and through AvidXchange
Handle, manipulate and analyze data and information responsibly
Review and code employee expense reports through Emburse Certify, including monthly UMB Corporate Card reports
Pull daily bank statements for cash receipt posting by Lease Administration
-Record asset acquisitions into Fixed Asset Module in MRI
-Ensure all state sales tax payments are made timely and appropriately booked
Interns are expected to:
as a team member; build solid relationships with team members
Proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback
Demonstrate flexibility with task completion and prioritization
What you need to succeed in the role:
Preferred Fields of Study:
Accounting, Finance, Business Administration/Management, Auditing, Bookkeeping, Analysis
To be eligible for the internship, students must be in their junior year or senior year of
college, pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree
• Preferred cumulative GPA: 3.2
• Preferred major GPA: 3.3
• Exceptional listening, oral, written and interpersonal skills
