Eric Metelka has a wealth of experience in product and digital marketing. Eric began their career in 2006 as a Business Analyst Intern at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. Eric then went on to become an Associate Consultant and Business Analyst at The Cambridge Group from 2007 to 2012. In 2012, they became the Digital Marketing Manager at BestVendor, where they executed an SEO strategy that increased organic search traffic by 89%, managed a $10,000 marketing budget to hire six contributing blog editors, and designed and authored an email series that increased returning visits by 133%. In 2013, they founded Full Stack Marketing, where they taught digital marketing and social media to students in Chicago, advised social media influencers, agencies and brands on tools, strategy, trends, and process, and authored white papers on process for brands to create social media campaigns. Also in 2013, they became the Digital Marketing Manager at G2 Crowd and built the site's core growth loop, increasing organic traffic by over 250%. In 2014, they became a Product Analyst at Cars.com, where they led the delivery team to redesign the mobile homepage with new ad placements, earning $1.5MM in incremental annual revenue, and launched user profiles, resulting in over 70k sign-ups per month. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Senior Product Manager at PowerReviews, where they led a platform overhaul, revamped pricing guidelines, and created a spreadsheet tool for sales quoting. In 2018, they became the Senior Product Manager - Supply at SpotHero, where they assumed interim manager duties, crafted and led roadmapping, hiring, onboarding, and professional development processes, and was the product lead for a $50MM Series D fundraise. In 2019, they became the Lead Product Manager - Consumer & Growth at Cameo, where they led a 6-month redesign on the profile page that resulted in a 51% increase in accounts being created, created a strategy that delivered multiple significant increases to the checkout process, increased the new app signup rate from 40% to 75%, created a new marketing channel of product-driven CRM, and led the technical partnership with Mattel and NBCU. Currently, Eric Metelka is the Head of Product at Eppo, a position they have held since 2022.
Eric Metelka obtained a BA in Mathematical Methods in The Social Sciences/Economics from Northwestern University between 2003 and 2007. Eric then went on to earn an MBA in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Columbia Business School between 2011 and 2013. In October 2012, Metelka obtained a Google Adwords Certification from Google. In October 2019, they obtained a 2019 Fall Retention + Engagement Deep Dive Certification from Reforge.
