Grant McDowell has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Grant is currently the Head of Strategy and Product, as well as a Co-Founder, at Enosi Australia, where they developed the Powertracer platform, a clean energy traceability solution. Prior to that, in 2016, they founded Spark Club, a community for Climate Tech Founders and Contributors. In 2015, they worked in business development at Smart Commercial Solar, focusing on selling high-quality commercial solar PV. Grant also founded SunKit in 2013, an online sales business providing solar PV kits. From 2011 to 2013, they worked at Mark Group as the Director of Sales & Marketing, Commercial, and later as the Director of Operations. Grant was responsible for leading operational delivery during the solar boom, managing over 60 employees and subcontractor teams across multiple states. Before that, from 2009 to 2010, they were a senior sales manager at Energy Matters Pty Ltd, selling solar PV systems. Grant also founded SolarFarm in 2007, a solar energy retail business that offered remote ownership of solar panels. In the early 2000s, they managed the retail entity of Sydney Harbour Kayaks, an adventure tourism business. Before entering the energy industry, Grant worked as a documentary filmmaker in England, specializing in wildlife Natural History documentaries.
Grant McDowell attended the University of Cape Town from 1990 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Grant also holds a certification in "Work Safely at Heights" from Sydney Safety Training, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
