Eliel Bayever has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and medical research industry. Eliel currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Elucida Oncology, Inc., beginning in October 2020. Prior to this, they held the same role at OncoQuest Inc. from 2018 to September 2020, where they played a key role in negotiating with the FDA for a groundbreaking clinical study and built and managed a clinical team.

From 2016 to 2018, Bayever worked as the Vice President of Clinical Sciences at Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. Eliel was responsible for building a multidisciplinary oncology group focused on developing novel biologics for cancer immunotherapy. Before that, Bayever was the Vice President of Medical and Clinical Trial Design at Merrimack Pharmaceuticals from 2011 to 2016. In this role, they led the development and implementation of a registration study for an anticancer drug and drove the early development of other biologic compounds.

Bayever also gained experience at Johnson & Johnson from 2005 to 2011, serving as the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Cellular Technologies and as the Senior Director of Clinical Research for Oncology. Eliel contributed to the growth of oncology-related devices and diagnostics, led regulatory submissions, and oversaw field-based medical science liaisons teams.

Earlier in their career, Bayever held positions at Wyeth Research, Human Genome Sciences, Bayer Pharmaceuticals, and Children's National Medical Center and Washington Hospital Center, gaining diverse experience in medical research and clinical roles.

Eliel Bayever holds an MBBCh degree from the University of the Witwatersrand. Additionally, they obtained an MRCP degree in Internal Medicine from The Royal College of Physicians (UK). Moreover, Eliel pursued a Fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, focusing on the Department of Pediatrics and Division of Hematology/Oncology.
