Liat Shetret has extensive experience in the fields of global policy, regulation, and financial intelligence. Liat currently serves as the Director of Global Policy and Regulation at Elliptic, where they are responsible for overseeing regulatory compliance. Prior to this role, they worked as an Adjunct Instructor at New York University and served on the Advisory Board of ManchesterCF Financial Intelligence. From 2016 to 2018, Liat was a Senior Advisor on Financial Integrity and MENA Programs at the Global Center on Cooperative Security. Liat has also held positions at Solidus Labs as a Director of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Policy and at Citi as a Vice President and Global Program Lead. Liat's expertise in AML/CFT, cryptocurrency, and anti-money laundering make their a valuable asset in the financial industry.
Liat Shetret holds a Master of International Affairs degree with a concentration in International Security Policy, which they obtained from Columbia | SIPA in 2009. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago in 2007. Liat also participated in the Track II Diplomacy & Conflict Management program at the University of Maryland in 2007 and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars Program at Georgetown University in 2006. In terms of additional certifications, Liat obtained the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certification from ACAMS in November 2013. Liat also completed the Cryptocurrency Foundations course on LinkedIn in December 2019, as well as the GDPR Compliance: Essential Training course on LinkedIn in February 2021. Furthermore, they obtained the FIU Connect: Cryptoassets certification from ManchesterCF Financial Intelligence in February 2021.
