Joel Haus has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Joel is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Ellevation Education since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at OnlineMedEd as an Engineering Manager from May 2020 to August 2022. In this role, they managed multiple engineering teams and handled various responsibilities such as hiring, onboarding, career development, project management, and ensuring team alignment with company goals.

Before OnlineMedEd, Joel worked at National Instruments for many years. From February 2015 to March 2020, they served as a Software Group Manager, overseeing the GPIB, Embedded Networks, and DAQmx Multifunction DAQ driver teams. Joel also worked closely with product planners for determining the roadmap for Linux support and coordinated cross-company planning for Linux releases.

Prior to this, Joel held the position of Staff Software Engineer at National Instruments from September 2011 to February 2015. In this role, they served as an associate tech lead, scrum master, and project manager for various hardware support and Linux software releases. Joel also worked as a Software Engineer at National Instruments from August 2009 to September 2011, where they developed driver software for the GPIB team using C, C++, Python, and LabVIEW.

Joel's earlier work experiences include being a Teaching Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from January 2008 to May 2009 and working as a Software Engineer at National Instruments from June 2008 to August 2008.

Joel began their career as a Software Developer at the University of Missouri-Columbia. From June 2005 to August 2007, they worked on the development of interactive displays for the Youzeum, a health education museum, using tools such as Flash, 3ds Max, and Quest3D. Joel also developed a multiplayer 3D nature trail bicycling game, created 3D models, implemented bicycle physics, and developed an exercise bike controller with force feedback and a heart rate sensor.

Overall, Joel has accumulated extensive experience in software engineering, management, project coordination, and leadership roles throughout their career.

Joel Haus completed their education in computer engineering, earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2007 and a Master's degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2007 to 2009. In addition, they obtained a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) certification from the Scrum Alliance in April 2020.
