Rupert Tonn has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Rupert began their career in media sales with Icom Publications, Pearl & Dean Publishing Ltd, and Information Technology Publishing Ltd. in 1989. Rupert then worked as a Sales Executive at J.A.R.Communications GmbH from 1991 to 1993. Following that, they served as an Account Executive at Newsweek from 1993 to 1995, and as an Account Director at Bloomberg Businessweek from 1996 to 1999.
From 1999 to 2018, Tonn held various leadership positions at PubliGroupe, including Managing Director Germany, CEO Region Europe North East, General Manager Key Accounts, and Head of Business Development. In 2010, they briefly worked as the Director of Business Development/Partner at UDG United Digital Group.
In 2011, Tonn became the Managing Director at Yieldr (formerly YD) before moving on to serve as the Managing Director DACH at DQ&A Media Group from 2014 to 2018. Rupert then joined PIA Media as the Director of AdTech and Business Development in 2018, where they stayed until 2022.
Lastly, Tonn currently holds the position of Senior Director AdTech and Business Development at e-dialog, starting in November 2022. Overall, they have demonstrated strong leadership and expertise in the fields of adtech, business development, and media sales throughout their career.
Rupert Tonn pursued their higher education from 1984 to 1989 at The Manchester Metropolitan University. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors, specializing in Philosophy and Sociology.
