Laura Pickard is an experienced educator and support professional with a diverse background in teaching and tutoring. Currently serving as an English Second Language Teacher at DYB Choisun since May 2021, Laura focuses on teaching English to elementary and middle school children in South Korea. In addition, Laura has been tutoring at Kumon North America, Inc. since June 2015, helping students improve their math and reading skills while communicating progress with parents. Laura's experience also includes roles such as a Medical Office Receptionist at Washington Foot and Ankle Sports Medicine and an Operations Associate at Portland State University Foundation. Earlier positions as a Swim Instructor at YMCA of the USA and as a Lifeguard at Canterwood Golf & Country Club demonstrate a commitment to teaching and ensuring safety in aquatic environments. Laura holds a Master of Education in Post-Secondary and Adult Continuing Education with a focus on Educational Leadership and Policy and a Bachelor of Science in History, both from Portland State University.
