Laura Summers has over 27 years of work experience in the field of information systems engineering and program management.

Laura started their career in 1994 at DCS Corporation, where they worked as an Engineer. During their time at DCS Corporation, Laura developed web-based database applications using various technologies and tools such as Microsoft Visual Interdev, Visual Basic, VBScript, JavaScript, HTML, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, Microsoft Access, Claris Filemaker Pro, and ACI 4th Dimension.

In 2000, Laura joined BAE Systems as an Information Systems Engineer. In this role, they designed, developed, and managed multiple web-based database applications using Microsoft Visual Studio 2003/2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005. Laura also designed and managed SharePoint sites and utilized Active Directory for user account and group permission management. Additionally, Laura applied their knowledge of the CMMI concepts to improve processes within the development team, management, and customers. Laura stayed with BAE Systems until August 2011.

Currently, Laura Summers is working at Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI), formerly known as Disk Enterprise Solutions, Inc. Laura holds the position of Director of Programs, beginning in January 2023. Prior to this role, they worked as a Senior SharePoint Developer at DESI, starting in August 2011.

Laura Summers completed their Master of Science in Management Information Systems (MSM/MIS) from Florida Institute of Technology from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from St. Mary's College of Maryland, where they studied from 1991 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, Laura has obtained various certifications including Qlik Sense Certified Business Analyst and Qlik Sense Certified Data Architect from Qlik in December 2020 and July 2020 respectively. Laura also holds an ITIL® 4 Foundation CPD certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice acquired in March 2021, a Certified SAFe® 4 DevOps Practitioner certification from Scaled Agile Inc obtained in May 2020, and a CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA earned in October 2019.
