Yupei Chen has been working in the field of AI since 2022, when they began their role as a Staff AI Engineer at DIMAAG-AI. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute from 2021. From 2015 to 2021, they were a Graduate Researcher at Stony Brook University, where they created the largest lab-quality human search gaze dataset for scanpath prediction in images and worked on building the first Inverse Reinforcement Learning model that predict human scanpath on an image in object search tasks. Additionally, they were a Statistical Consultant at New York University from 2015.
Yupei Chen received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from East China Normal University in 2013. Yupei then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Psychology from New York University from 2013 to 2015. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cognitive Science from Stony Brook University in 2021.
